About Me

I have worked in the travel industry for 12 years, with the last 6 & a half in luxury worldwide travel. My love of travel started in school where I picked Leisure & Tourism as a subject. After leaving school I embarked on my career in travel, completing an apprenticeship. Having left the travel industry for 7 years, I always missed the job I loved so much so decided to return, using my own knowledge to create the perfect trips for others.

My Travel Experience

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to some amazing countries, some of my favourites being Kenya, South Africa (where I spent 3 months in 2018) Tanzania, Japan, Vietnam and Canada. I tend to go slightly off the beaten track when travelling, to really experience the real country as a local does.

In South Africa, I ventured into the heart of KwaZulu Natal to the Drakensberg Mountains, famous for the Native San Peoples Rock Art and Tugela Falls, the world’s second-highest waterfall.

In Japan, I stayed in a traditional Ryokan (Japanese B&B) in the mountain village of Tsumago, famous for the best-preserved part of the Nakesendo Highway, Japan’s postal route from Tokyo to Kyoto dating back to the 8th Century. You can walk this part, through the bamboo forests to the next town of Magome.

In Vietnam, I stayed on the island of Con Dao, historically serving as a prison island (some of which I visited) during the French occupation.  This mountainous island is lie stepping back in time, with only one main road running the length of the island.

My Favourite Experience

One of my all-time favourite travel moments is on safari in Kenya. We were in Shaba National Park, in the north of the country, at the Samburu River to see the largest herd of elephants that even our guide had ever seen. There were approximately 70-80 animals, ranging from tiny day-old calves to the ancient Matriarchs. The whole experience took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes, it was very special. 

Holidays are such an important part of my life so to be able to help customers create their own memorable experiences on holiday is a real passion of mine.

My Top Tips

• When going on a safari, it’s a great idea to take your own binoculars, that way you don’t have to wait in line to use the guides and risk missing any of the game!
• If you want to experience Street Foods, always look for where the locals are eating, as this almost guarantees it will be great and authentic!
• On any trip that includes hiking, always remember to layer up. This way, you won’t get too hot or cold, especially if hiking at high altitudes.
• If you are doing a multi-centre holiday, packing cubes are an absolute must and save you so much time, especially if climates are different or doing cities and beaches.
