I am lucky enough to have worked in the travel industry for around 10 years. I began my career at a company that specialised in long haul, multi-centre itineraries, but found myself wanting to go on the holidays that I was planning just a little too much…so eventually I took a career break to embark on my own trip around the world! Exploring Africa, South-East Asia, Australasia, and the United States for six months, I had the time of my life! I returned home with a renewed passion to help others have similar incredible life experiences.
I spent the next five years working as a North America specialist, and then a South-East Asia and Africa specialist, drawing on my own knowledge and experiences to plan immersive, experiential, and memorable holidays for my customers. I love nothing more than helping people to experience new cultures, sample delicious food, soak in stunning views, and observe amazing wildlife.
Although I have in-depth knowledge of a variety of countries all over the globe, my passion and continued interest in Southeast Asia (particularly Thailand, Vietnam, and Bali) and Africa (South Africa and Eastern Africa) are what make them my areas of expertise.
It's impossible to choose between my favourite travel experiences but the first time I witnessed a large herd of elephants frolicking in Kruger National Park, it absolutely took my breath away. Catching a helicopter up to a blue ice glacier and then hiking upon it was one of the most unique things that I have ever done. Curling up with a book on the deck of my floating tent on the river in Khao Sok National Park during a storm was the most peaceful moment of my life. Quad biking through the rainforest in Bali, abseiling over a turquoise lagoon in the Philippines, and standing opposite the thundering Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe are all amongst my endless list of memorable travel moments.
Keep a journal - Even if you only write a few lines a day: Something you’ve eaten for the first time, an interesting fact about the country, notes on a breath-taking view…these things might fade from memory in time and jotting it down will help you remember those finer details.
Use Packing Cubes - Such an easy amendment for packing your suitcase, but if you are going on a trip with multiple stops, they will save space and help keep you organised on the move!
Eat locally - Food can be such a highlight on holiday! Ask your driver, guide or hotel reception for their local recommendations- you might just discover your new favourite food.
Learn a few phrases - ‘Please’, ‘thank you, or ‘Sorry’ in the local language will go a long way
An African safari experience features on almost everyone’s bucket list…with unique lodges, breathtaking vistas, and unbeatable wildlife encounters, we completely understand why! Whether you choose to visit the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, the Masai Mara in Kenya, Kruger National Park in South Africa, or any of the countless other incredible locations within Africa, you will never be disappointed.
