Day-by-Day
Day 1 & 2: Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi - the capital of Vietnam and one of the world's most ancient cities. Hanoi is the second largest city in the country, with plenty to be discovered. Visit Vietnam Women’s Museum and learn about the importance of womanhood from the past to the modern day. Explore the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university for 700 years. Spend the afternoon walking around the Old Quarter and enjoy an authentic home-cooked dinner at a Vietnamese family home. Learn of first-hand accounts of life during the Vietnam War.
Day 3: Halong Bay
After breakfast, leave Hanoi and head to Halong Bay - a paradise of uninhabited islands and limestone pillars. After setting sail, enjoy a freshly prepared lunch whilst cruising towards the bay and enjoying the views. Enjoy some activities arranged by the boat crew or relax onboard. Soon after dinner, prepare to spend the night amongst the gigantic rock formations and watch as the moon glistens on the bay.
Day 4 & 5: Halong Bay & Danang
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise from the boat and enjoy a delicious breakfast - slowly sailing through this magnificent landscape and back to the port. Upon the arrival at the dock, head over to Hanoi airport and catch a domestic flight to Danang. Cycle through the countryside and arrive at a local farm. Get your hands in the mud, learn about rice cultivation and learn how to cook it in a traditional way.
Day 6: Hoi An
Today is all about experiencing the gastronomic capital of Vietnam - Hoi An. Drive to an organic farm and pick up fresh fruit and vegetables before heading to the kitchen. Here, you will prepare local dishes and learn about how locals utilise fresh ingredients for a healthy lifestyle. End this experience by feasting on a delicious meal prepared by you and the team.
Day 7: Hoi An - Hue
Are you ready to learn more history of Hoi An? If so, start your walking tour at the old port, stroll through the narrow streets and traditional homes and visit the iconic 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge. Afterwards, drive through Danang and stopover at the Cham Museum to learn more about the mysterious culture of Champa. Stop at the beautiful fishing village of Lang Co before continuing to Hue for an exclusive private dinner at the Tha Om garden house.
Day 8: Hue
Wake up in Hue - the lost imperial city of Central Vietnam. Drive about 20 minutes to Bao La village and find out the importance of traditional bamboo crafts in addition to basket weaving. Later in the afternoon, explore the culture and cuisine of the Nguyen Dynasty on a Vespa. Cruise through the charming streets of Hue whilst indulging in some iconic local dishes like beef noodle soup, sizzling pancakes and green leaf cakes.
Day 9: Ho Chi Minh
Time to discover the bustling Ho Chí Minh City, also known as Saigon. Put on some comfortable shoes because there is some exploring to do. Visit one of the most famous landmarks - The Post Office, be fascinated by the architecture of Gia Long Palace and mingle with the locals at the central market. Later in the evening, experience one of the most exciting and cultural shows in the country, filled with contemporary choreography, acrobatic acts and traditional music.
Day 10: Ho Chi Minh
Mingle through the lively streets of Ho Chí Minh City and explore the aromatic coffee scene. Enjoy a delicious Vietnamese lunch before heading over to an 80-year-old coffee shop and warehouse. Here you will learn about the unique ways of coffee making. Finish the tour at Barista Saigon Studio and learn all about the brewing techniques. Later in the afternoon, cruise in a private speedboat to The Cu Chi Tunnels and find out how they were used during the Vietnam War. If you are brave enough, crawl inside one of the tunnels yourself and get a sense of what life was like living and fighting there.
Day 11: Departure
Spend your last morning at your leisure and head to the airport to catch your flight back to the UK.
