Fly to Cairns for a full day on the Great Barrier Reef and spend the final day with an Aboriginal guide exploring the Mossman Gorge and the lush rainforest of Daintree National Park.
Day 1 & 2: Sydney
Soak up the seductive outdoor lifestyle and beauty of Sydney, learn to surf on Bondi, explore the cobblestone streets of the Rocks, enjoy people watching in the cafes of Paddington or take a dip in the calm waters of Coogie Beach. An included cruise of Sydney Harbour offers a great way to see the iconic sights, while a behind the scenes Opera House tour reveals the secrets of this spectacular landmark. After viewing the iconic Harbour bridge from below, it’s time to get a little higher, climb the famous bridge at twilight for spectacular panoramic views from the top.
Day 3: Sydney - The Blue Mountains
On your final day in Sydney, a full day tour to the Blue Mountains offers incredible views of the Three Sisters, the Jamison Valley and Govetts Leap. Lunch is served at Blackheath and a glass of sparkling wine at Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens before heading back into the city.
Day 4: Ayers Rock (Uluru)
Transfer to the airport for the domestic flight to Ayers Rock, in the heart of Australia’s desert plains. The famous ‘Rock’ stands 348 metres high and is one of the country’s most recognisable natural icons. A magical evening awaits, at the Sounds of Silence dinner, an open-air experience beginning with a spectacular sunset with views of Ayers Rock and Kata Tjuta before a bush tucker feast is served under the starlit sky.
Day 5: Ayers Rock (Uluru) & The Olgas
The following morning, rise early to watch the shape of Uluru slowly appear as the early dawn light reveals its presence. A picnic breakfast is served while you learn about the creation stories and the Mala people before a visit to Mutitjulu Waterhole. In the afternoon, visit Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to a place where unique flora and fauna thrive – The Olgas. Discover the cultural significance of Kata Tjuta and how the 36 domes have evolved over millions of years. In the evening, take a self-guided walk through the Field of Light, a monumental light installation, where 50,000 lights gently bloom with rhythms of coloured light in the darkness of the remote desert location.
Day 6: Cairns
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairns and the onward transfer to your hotel to relax and enjoy the tropical Northern Queensland city of Cairns.
Day 7: Cairns - The Great Barrier Reef
Head out to the Great Barrier Reef for a full day of exploring the reef from a semi-submersible reef viewer, glass bottom boat, marine biologist led snorkelling tours and underwater observatory. Scuba diving is also available at additional cost.
Day 8: Cairns - Daintree and Mossman Gorge
This full day tour is an insightful and fun day out, beginning with an introduction to the traditional fishing and gathering methods of the Kuku Yalanji people on Cooya Beach. Next up head to Mossman Gorge where a traditional ‘smoking’ ceremony conducted by Aboriginal people will protect you on your visit to Kuku Yalanji country. Explore the lush rainforest of Daintree National Park, one of the oldest and most beautiful rainforests in the world, to see the spectacular mountain ranges, waterfalls and rich flora and fauna.
Day 9: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
